Industrial Policy and Overcapacity: Empirical Research of China

Based on China’s industrial policy that categorizes industries as encouraged, restricted, and prohibited, this chapter analyzes the causes of overcapacity in China and examines the effect of China’s industrial policy on overcapacity in different industry categories.
