Machining of Ni-Based Superalloys in WEDM Process—A Review

摘要

The present study explained the machining of Ni-based superalloys (such as various grades of Inconel alloys) and the effect of input parameters (such as pulse-on time, pulse-off time, wire feed, servo voltage, current, and wire tension) on the output parameters (such as material removal rate, kerf width, and surface roughness) in WEDM process. Numerous orthogonal arrays offer to decrease the experimental run number, and to analyse the effects of significant input parameters on the output parameters, various optimization technique is used to optimize the output parameters. The several optimization techniques for supper alloys with their several grades are elaborated in this study. The investigation exposes that servo voltage and pulse-on time are the most significant among the process variables for finding the material removal rate, surface roughness, and kerf width, respectively.
