Conclusion: Future Directions in Sex Work Research

In this chapter, we bring together conclusions of the book, drawing on the themes of gender, justice, and regulation. Drawing from this volume, this chapter highlights several areas that deserve further attention in research on the spaces of (in)justice and sex work: online sex work; LGBTQ+ sex work; advocacy and human rights; and public education around sex work. This chapter encourages future research to prioritise collaboration and co-production to create empirically grounded and policy-relevant knowledge in these thematic areas, to improve understanding and the lives of sex workers.
