Practice of Risk Management on Malaria

Malaria is a severe disease caused by parasites, mainly transmitted by certain species of female mosquitoes. These mosquitoes carry the malaria parasites, which are transmitted to the human body during the mosquitoes’ blood feeding, causing malaria. The disease is widespread worldwide, especially in tropical regions, posing a significant threat to life. The harm of malaria lies not only in its threat to human health but also in its challenge to socioeconomics. Therefore, effective malaria control and management strategies are vital issues in global public health. This chapter will primarily focus on the prevention and management of malaria, delve into the global malaria burden, risk assessment, monitoring and early warning, prevention and control measures, and impact evaluation, etc., to assist malaria control and management workers worldwide to effectively tackle this global public health problem.
