摘要

IoT systems pose intricate challenges, spanning development, implementation, and management. This study delves into innovative project management strategies, emphasising the distinctiveness of IoT compared to traditional IT systems. The study proposes adopting the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to orchestrate agile solutions in multi-team and enterprise-wide IoT projects. Rigorously assessing the practicality, the study leverages a hypothetical logistics project as a proving ground. In this dynamic model, three teams align with the four-layer reference architecture for IoT systems. The narrative unfolds by breaking the project into tangible program increments and features, assigned to teams, and refined into agile user stories. Embracing agile principles, the authors stress cross-team synchronisation, continual improvement, shared objectives, iterative planning, and delivering tangible customer value. The study illustrates how this solution ensures team synchronisation throughout diverse project phases. The authors have also highlighted how synchronisation shall be maintained across teams as they move through the various phases and iterations of the project. The proposed solution is populated with examples from a hypothetical logistics project to help visualise the solution. As the narrative concludes, the authors underscore the effectiveness of SAFe in the IoT realm, acknowledging unique challenges. The study provides actionable insights and outlines avenues for future research, leaving the practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate dance between IoT systems and agile frameworks.
