Cultural Heritage Preservation: An Image Processing Approach for Forgery Detection and Localization

In the realm of cultural heritage preservation, safeguarding authenticity has prompted a quest for innovative technological interventions. This study introduces an advanced image processing system designed to detect and precisely identify forgeries within cultural heritage photographs. Leveraging a pre-trained convolutional neural network (CNN) in conjunction with a specialized region-based detection approach, the proposed algorithm not only identifies potential forgeries but also accurately pinpoints their exact locations. Through comprehensive evaluations conducted on a diverse cultural heritage dataset, our methodology emerges as a pivotal advancement in upholding the integrity of our shared heritage. By combining cutting-edge technology with meticulous analysis, this research offers a robust solution for safeguarding the authenticity of cultural artifacts for future generations.
