A New Approach of Protection Scheme for 11 kV Primary Distribution to Avoid Electrical Accident Through Relay Logic Modification: A Practical Case Study of Distribution Network
摘要
Reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply to the consumers has become an essential need in today’s competitive market. In this context, power utility especially distribution utilities are striving and facing challenges to meet the consumer demand. Adoption of better protection scheme is also needed to avoid the tripping of the any equipment like conductor, transformer, breaker etc. This paper deals with the analysis and protection scheme against broken of any phase conductor in 11 kV line in West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL). The broken conductor can be detected in 11 kV distribution system by the use of negative sequence components. There are different methods are there to detect the broken conductor faults like Unbalanced current method, HIF method, Line charging current method. In this paper, a practical case study of 11 kV distribution network protection scheme modification is represented. This case study deals with the positive and negative sequence current component to detect the phase discontinuity due to broken conductor at Kulgoria 11 kV feeder emanated from Galsi 33/11 kV Substation, WBSEDCL in the district of East Bardhaman.
