Imperfect Inventory Model with Exponential Demand Having Carbon Emission and Backlog
摘要
It is commonly known that carbon emissions are one of the main causes of global warming, which poses a serious risk to the world. As it is often known, carbon emissions are one of the primary drivers of global warming, which is considered a major environmental problem. Because of this, consumers are now more concerned with quality and the environment than ever before, and as a result, they demand that businesses practice sustainability. In this case, business should develop and apply inventory models that consider sustainability. The company must also deal with issues like shortages and pricing in order to survive in a cutthroat industry. In addition, some products are distinct from the norm and call for feeding them until they reach a certain weight before being slaughtered and sold to customers. All the items are considered in the form of imperfect items. In this regard, the study suggests an inventory model for producing mediocre quality when there are backlogs and exponential demand with carbon emissions. The backorder is complete. As demand is an exponential function. In order to maximise the expected total profit per unit of time, the recommended inventory model takes into account the order amount, backorder quantity, and retail cost of perfect quality developing products. To demonstrate the application and pertinence of the inventory model, some numerical examples are resolved in order to illustrate the use and the applicability of the inventory model. Finally, a sensitivity analysis is conducted and some managerial insights are given.
