Creativity, cognition, design thinking, emotional intelligence, social intelligence and design methodologies have been well experimented over the decades by researchers across the globe. The objective of this paper is to determine the role and significance of bias in a design thinking process and to establish how it influences the design solution of a design brief. To attain this objective, two experiments were conducted in two premier design institutions located in the North India with students studying at bachelors and masters level programmes. The details have been laid out in the methodology section and the experiment findings have been reported along with a conclusion at the end. The paper concludes inferring that personality and bias have a key role to play in the design solution of the project undertaken; hence, selection or recruitment of designer has to be done meticulously while forming a team leader and a team in an organisation. The paper urges design researchers and leaders to have a convergent and divergent approach as and when needed but choose the design lead carefully as the success or fulfilment or the nature of deliverable solely lies on the biases of this design lead.

摘要
