Applications of High-Power Semiconductor Lasers in the Field of Ecological Environment Detection and Protection

Ecological environmental deterioration continues to intensify, along with the rapid development of science and technology, so technical research on ecological environment detection and protection has become the focus of attention of many countries. Semiconductor lasers have been widely used in many fields such as industry, research, medicine, military and natural environments protection, due to their small size, light weight, high efficiency and low cost. High-power semiconductor lasers, in a steady state, can have output powers of hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands and even megawatts, in the form of single-emitter, laser bar, bar-stack, and two-dimensional array of bar-stacks. At present, high-power semiconductor lasers have been ideal light sources for applications in ecological environment detection and protection such as micro-nano satellite ecological remote sensing, marine environment monitoring, heavy metal pollution detection, gas detection, geological monitoring, laser disinfection and sterilization, laser weeding, laser bird repellent, and laser foreign matter removal . This paper focuses mainly on the applications of high-power semiconductor lasers in the field of ecological environment monitoring and protection, and analyzes and summarizes their present research status and future development trend.
