Spaceborne Ultraviolet Sky Survey Telescope with Large Field of View

Time domain astronomy is a field that contains important opportunities for astronomical discovery, involving the detection and physical mechanism research of various transient sources in the universe. These transient sources include flares, supernovae, gamma ray bursts, black hole tidal collapse events, fast radio bursts, and gravitational wave electromagnetic counterparts, etc. The ultraviolet band plays an important role in the study of astronomical transient events, while the space ultraviolet survey telescope is an important instrument in time domain astronomy. This article introduces the current status of time-domain sky surveys in the ultraviolet band both domestically and internationally, analyzes the scientific objectives of imaging observations in the mid ultraviolet spectral range, and design a spaceborne ultraviolet sky survey telescope with a large field of view. According to the performance requirements, an enhanced ultraviolet detector was used to design the optical and imaging system of a large field of view remote sensing camera. The instrument has an effective aperture of 20 mm and a field of view angle of 15° × 15°, with a smaller volume and lighter weight, meeting the requirements for carrying small satellite platforms. The simulation results show that the system has excellent image quality in the operating spectral range of 270-300 nm.
