Design and Testing of U-type Electromagnetic Actuator for Magnetic Bearing
摘要
The actuator is the most important portion of a bearing system, which is made up of several segments. For the purpose of studying electromagnets in relation to a U-type single-axis active magnetic bearing, this study offers an experimental framework based on testing. The investigation is conducted using different air gaps, and the results are then applied to hardware. The U-type actuator has the strongest attraction force of all the actuator types and is the easiest to build. Here are three combinations that demonstrate how the design for attraction force, inductance profile, and resistance was validated. Resistance and inductance are determined using a DC and AC test, respectively. In order to accomplish the inductance profile and attraction force measurement between the actuator and the rotor, a ferromagnetic item is regarded as the rotor underneath the actuator by varying the air gap. Analyses and comparisons are made between the suggested system and the outcomes of experiments.
