Implementation of KNN Machine Learning Model to Predict the Threat to IoT Infrastructure

The Internet of Things (IoT) system helps individuals to improve business operations and leads to digital transformation. Modern appliances are relying on the combination of sensors and software modules to provide communication among all the connected devices. Now, IoT raises the worry of security breaches, and their adverse effects also increase. Therefore, traditional security paradigms are not sufficient to protect the IoT data and enhanced preventive operations should be intensified. This research is aimed to analyze the important factors of IoT features that a machine learning algorithm may use to predict the security breaches and what countermeasures are required to achieve secured deployment. The KNN machine learning model is deployed and the accuracy attained on the IoT dataset is 99% and proves to be a good security mechanism. Delivering a constantly upgraded and modern security system for the next-generation IoT system requires the usage of machine learning solutions.
