Evaluating the Influence of Haryana’s Air Quality on Public Health: A Geospatial Approach

This research study aims to comprehensively assess the air quality of Haryana, India, using Sentinel-5P satellite data. The research will focus on monitoring, quantifying, and analysing air pollution levels in different regions of Haryana. Additionally, the study will investigate the health and environmental impacts of air pollution, identify pollution sources, analyse existing policies, and provide recommendations for effective air pollution control measures. The research findings will contribute to a better understanding of air quality dynamics in Haryana and inform policy decisions to promote sustainable environmental practices. This research paper presents a comprehensive assessment of air quality in Haryana, India, from 2019 to 2022. The study utilizes multiple satellite datasets, including nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), formaldehyde (CH2O), and aerosol index (AI), to evaluate the concentrations and spatial distributions of air pollutants across different regions of Haryana. The results demonstrate significant fluctuations in pollution levels over the four-year period, with higher concentrations observed in 2019 and 2021 and lower levels recorded in 2020 and 2022. Spatial distribution maps provide graphical representations of pollutant patterns, highlighting the temporal and spatial variations in pollution levels. The findings underscore the persistent challenge of rising pollution levels in specific areas of Haryana and emphasize the importance of continuous monitoring and targeted interventions to improve air quality. The integration and analysis of diverse satellite datasets contribute to a comprehensive understanding of air quality conditions in the region and support informed decision-making for mitigating pollution and promoting environmental sustainability.
