Cryptanalysis and Improvement of Scheme on Wireless Sensor Networks for Agriculture Monitoring
摘要
Global economic development is significantly influenced by agriculture. A quarter of the population of India relies on agriculture to earn a living, making it the largest source of income for the entire country. Modern agriculture is increasingly relying on wireless sensor networks (WSNs) to collect data. WSN technologies have become the cornerstone. Data collected by the sensors is transported across the network, increasing security risks. So, it is crucial for WSN secure communication that users are authenticated. Many authentication schemes have been proposed for the WSN. In their research, Ali et al. (Futur Gener Comput Syst 84:200–215), put forth a novel authentication and key agreement system that utilizes WSN for the purpose of farm monitoring. We found that the scheme is not secure and is prone to session key attacks, insider attacks, and empirical secret key leakage attacks.
