Assessing Interdependency of Climate Change and Food Security: An Overview

摘要

Food security is a global concern referred to as economic access to food along with food production and food availability. It aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including “No Poverty”, “Zero Hunger”, “Good Health and Well-being”, “Climate Action”, and “Life on Land”. The ongoing innovation and modernization of food systems, are characterized by interdependencies of many factors such as climate change and increased population. Climate change has an impact on agricultural productivity, which impacts food availability. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly clear that achieving sustained healthier diets for all requires improving our grasp of the cultural aspect of food security. The production of crops, animals, and fisheries might all be impacted by climate change, which would also alter crop pest prevalence. Food security must be a concern of its effects. Crop yields have decreased recently because of decreased infrastructure and research spending, growing water constraints, and shifting climatic conditions. Food security consists of four main elements: availability, stability, utilization, and accessibility. Effective adaptation and management depend on sparing no effort and working together to maximize synergies while making efficient use of energy, water, land, and other essential resources. A convergence of technology and agriculture, encompassing precision and sustainable agriculture, the bio-economy, and cutting-edge technologies like mechanization, is essential to solving these problems. This study outlines the methodology for assessing the societal consequences influenced by the relationship between global climate change and agricultural systems, with a focus on food security, ecosystem management, and human well-being by using CAS technologies (geospatial technologies). To increase the food system's resistance to climate change, this investigation will hopefully address potential adaptation tactics and develop adaptive capability.
