Regenerative Organic Farming for Encouraging Innovation and Improvement of Environmental, Social, and Economic Sustainability

Climatic conditions are changing continuously, leading to global warming and generating greenhouse gas emissions. These changes bring high temperatures, natural disasters, and changes in precipitation patterns, decline in natural resources, disappearances in biological diversity, rise in sea level, food security threats, and poverty. These complications will be mitigated using regenerative organic farming through certain practices, like crop rotation, conservation tillage, green manuring, composting, organic mulching, agroforestry, and integrated pest and disease management. These practices will improve ecosystem services and social resilience. It will bring economic stability and enhance socio-economic stability in the farming community. These regenerative organic farming practices transfer food production and improve the ecosystem. Many farmers are adopting regenerative organic farming practices to obtain long-term sustainability and shifting to conservation agronomic practices. However, many challenges create barriers to farming communities adopting regenerative organic farming in agriculture. This chapter aims to inform people about the benefits of regenerative organic farming and the adoption of its practices. These systemic approaches will reduce soil degradation and improve soil structure. It enhances crop production and fulfills the food demands of a rapidly increasing population. It will profit farmers and strengthen the economic conditions of the developing nations. Satellite, GPS technologies, and automation provide precision agriculture, further aiding in effective recourse utilization in regenerative organic farming. This digitalization will enhance productivity and ensure food security. Regenerative organic farming widely offers opportunities for farmers to tackle climate change and food production threats. Adapting regenerative organic farming practices is the only solution to recently emerging issues.
