Enhancing Network Security: A Strategic SDN and Genetic Algorithm Approach for Countering DDoS Attacks
摘要
This research unveils a strategic Software-Defined Networking (SDN) architecture to counter Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, embodying a dynamic defense mechanism akin to a skilled general directing a battlefield. Utilizing a central controller, the system efficiently reroutes suspicious packets, mitigating potential threats to servers. This paper introduces for detecting such attacks and pursuits Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm in accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. In conclusion, the proposed SDN architecture and GA emerge as robust solutions for countering traffic diversion attacks, offering insights to fortify network security in modern infrastructures. The genetic algorithm’s remarkable accuracy of 0.96 outshines PSO’s 0.92, emphasizing its superior performance. Moreover, GA achieves a precision of 0.97, surpassing PSO’s 0.89, showcasing its enhanced ability to provide accurate results.
