A Survey on Fire Detection and Mitigation Methods, and Its Challenges

This survey provides a comprehensive review of wildfire detection and mitigation strategies, technologies, and methodologies, considering the pressing issue of increasing wildfires and their far-reaching impacts. The objective is to analyze existing literature, categorizing findings into key subtopics: wildfire detection techniques (e.g., remote sensing, machine learning) and effective mitigation strategies (e.g., firebreaks, controlled burns). Methodologically, various reputable sources were systematically reviewed to identify trends, challenges, and emerging technologies. The survey identifies gaps in current research and proposes future directions, aiming to contribute valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and communities. Proactive wildfire detection and efficient mitigation are underscored as critical components in addressing this growing concern.
