Techniques for Knee Osteoarthritis Detection and Severity Grading Using Deep Learning

Osteoarthritis in the knee is the cause of frailty in the elderly. This disease affects the ligament, which could have an impact on the cartilage. The robust, pliable connective tissue that shields your bones and joints is called cartilage. It keeps the bones from rubbing against one another by absorbing the friction that exists between them. In the event of osteoarthritis in the knee, the protecting cartilage is either diminished or destroyed. The ongoing initiatives target the osteoarthritis in the knee. This paper covers several deep learning and machine learning techniques, as well as methods for predicting and grading the severity of osteoarthritis in the knee. This assessment aids in identifying the algorithm that performs better and has the best accuracy. It also tells the number of the ways to solve the problem using machine-learning techniques. We came across different classification and regression techniques in this review.
