摘要

In the domain of evidence management systems, a significant problem has been recognized: the inadequate upkeep of the sequential documentation of the evidence. Simultaneously, in the larger framework of forensic science, the imperative need for effective evidence maintenance to solve crimes and ensure justice is underscored. To tackle this multifaceted challenge, we propose a comprehensive solution through the implementation of an advanced evidence management system, aimed at rectifying existing issues and ensuring the meticulous handling of evidential records. Our innovative approach involves leveraging blockchain technology, specifically employing the Hyperledger Fabric framework. In addition, we integrate the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to establish a robust chain of custody mechanism. This integration guarantees not only the secure and transparent tracking of evidence records but also addresses the identified problem of insufficient chain of custody maintenance. Furthermore, offers a trustworthy and secure tamper-resistant platform for the management and preservation of crucial evidential data. This paradigm shift toward a digital system, facilitated by the integration of blockchain technology into criminal records administration systems, is pivotal. This transition ensures the integrity of the sequential documentation of the evidence, thereby enhancing the overall trustworthiness of information presented during legal processes. By embracing these technological advancements, our study contributes to the evolution of evidence management practices in forensic science, fostering greater reliability and transparency in the legal system pertaining to criminal matters.
