Impact Evaluation of Watershed Management Programmes and Drought-Proofing Interventions: A Case Study of Area Development Programmes in India

This paper attempts to document the impacts of the drought-proofing-oriented natural resources replenishment and conservation and community development programmes enunciated by a community development agency supported by World Vision India (WVI henceforth). The broad objective of the study was to document the impacts of the drought-proofing and water conservation activities as well as community development interventions undertaken by the WVI across different area development programmes’ (ADPs) locations in India. The study provides a roadmap for the future course of action in the semi-arid and drought-prone regions where watershed cum drought-proofing interventions have been identified as the critical development strategies for mitigating drought-related climate events.
