Mapping Supply Chain Research to Sustainable Development Goals

While research in sustainable development goals (SDGs) has explored different avenues in intersection with other domains, studies are yet to address some of the pertinent questions in the interdisciplinary domain of SDGs and supply chain management literature. To address this gap, our current study explores the research trends in the SDG-SCM interface across the last seven years. Our study identifies the overall research performance in the SDG-SCM interface, their interlinkages, top countries in SDG-SCM research, top funding received, and top SDGs mapped to supply chain research. In tandem, this also aims to identify the prolific institutions and top-cited papers in SDG-SCM research. Findings suggest that overall research interest is increasing rapidly in the SDG-SCM area, with top countries funding such research as China, Belgium, the USA, and China getting the maximum research impact. The findings also suggest that the most important SDGs that have found attention in the SDG-SCM interface are SDGs 12, 9, and 7.
