Pet adoption is a crucial endeavor in today’s world, with countless animals in need of loving homes. Shelters and rescue organizations are inundated with pets of all shapes and sizes, each with their own unique story and longing for companionship. By choosing to adopt, individuals not only provide a second chance at life for these animals but also relieve the strain on overcrowded shelters. Additionally, adopting a pet promotes responsible pet ownership, as it encourages prospective owners to consider the long-term commitment involved. Furthermore, adopting a pet can bring immense joy and fulfilment to a household, creating a strong bond between the animal and their new family. Embracing pet adoption is not only a compassionate choice, but it also contributes to building a more compassionate and humane society for all creatures, great and small. PeTree is an innovative and transformative digital platform that leverages machine learning (ML) to revolutionize the pet adoption process. In a world where countless animals await their forever homes in shelters and rescue organizations, this project addresses the challenges faced by both pet seekers and shelters. The platform utilizes advanced ML algorithms for recommendation, dynamic data analysis based on customer feedback, hence this creates a prime experience for users. This website caters to novice pet adopters who encounter a pet on the road and wish to explore adoption. Users can capture a photo of the pet and upload it to the PeTree platform. Leveraging Convolution Neural Networks, i.e., CNN, the system then identifies crucial details about the pet, including its breed. Additionally, the platform provides information on stores or adoption centers where pets of that specific breed are available, assisting users in their adoption journey. It envisions a future where technology plays a crucial role in reducing pet homelessness, increasing adoption rates, and strengthening the human–animal bond.
