To study the impact force of composite laminates subjected to low-velocity impact, several researchers have employed the improved Hertzian contact law or investigative static indentation law. This study examines the impact forces of the unidirectional hybrid laminates made of glass fibers (GF) and polyethylene fibers (PEF) reinforced with phenolic polymers. The low-velocity impact research on composite laminates can be proven beneficial by the application of a linearized contact law. This report also includes some numerical findings that were examined using Ansys, a commercial FEM tool.

摘要

To study the impact force of composite laminates subjected to low-velocity impact, several researchers have employed the improved Hertzian contact law or investigative static indentation law. This study examines the impact forces of the unidirectional hybrid laminates made of glass fibers (GF) and polyethylene fibers (PEF) reinforced with phenolic polymers. The low-velocity impact research on composite laminates can be proven beneficial by the application of a linearized contact law. This report also includes some numerical findings that were examined using Ansys, a commercial FEM tool.
