摘要

In our daily lives and industrial production, we utilize numerous metal components and equipment. However, the corrosion of these metals not only poses inconveniences but also poses significant threats to life and production. Equipment that has been corroded often needs to be replaced regularly, leading to direct financial losses. While direct losses can be easily quantified, indirect losses are more challenging to calculate and often exceed direct losses by a wide margin, including waste of raw materials, impact on product quality, and environmental pollution. In the factory, changes in machine performance caused by corrosion will lead to a significant increase in subsequent production costs, and the corrosion of some parts may also cause fire and other safety accidents. Nowadays, reinforced concrete structures are widely used in buildings and bridges. The concrete is wrapped around the steel, if the steel corrodes, it will cause the concrete outside to peel off, resulting in serious structural problems and inability to bear weight. This is also one of the common failure modes in reinforced concrete buildings. Corrosion poses a significant threat to engineering equipment, critical structures, and infrastructure, potentially leading to catastrophic accidents. Especially in buildings closely related to life and factories related to petroleum and natural gas, corrosion is more likely to cause huge economic losses and even casualties.
