Non-ferrous and Rare Metals in Wastes from the Blavinskoye Copper and Ore Deposit in the Orenburg Region

The article presents data on the content of non-ferrous and rare metals in the wastes of the Blyavinskoye copper-coal deposit of the Orenburg region (Russia). The wastes of the mothballed Blyavinskoye deposit are represented by overburden dumps formed during the construction of the open pit. The depletion of mineral resources with ever-increasing volumes of consumption necessitates deeper processing of minerals extracted from the subsoil. The purpose of this work is to determine the level of content of the most important non-ferrous and rare metals and to identify paragenesis of typomorphic elements for the western dump and quarry lake of the Blyavinskoye deposit. To achieve this goal, samples of soil from the dump, silt and water from the quarry lake, as well as samples of vegetation of the dump were taken. Elemental analysis was performed by atomic-emission method with inductively coupled plasma. The analyses determined Cu, Fe, Al, Ca, K, Mg, Mn, Cr, V, Ni, Co, Ba, Sr, Na, Rb, Cs, Be, Tl, Cd, Ga, Se, As, B, S, P. Industrial Cu content in the soil (~ 1.3%) of the western dump was detected. The contents of S (3.8%), Cd (0.41%), Rb (0.53%), Cs (0.13%), Ga (0.02%), Tl - 0.05%, the sum of Pb and Zn (0.12%) are sufficient in case of their associated extraction at complex processing of the mentioned object. Paragenesis of elements Al, Ca, Fe, Cu, Mn, Mg, K, S is typical for the western dump, quarry lake and vegetation of the western dump of Blyavinskoye deposit of Orenburg region. The occurrence of elements, as a rule, is 100%.
