摘要

The on-going climate warming has made 2023 the warmest year on record. According to the Japanese reanalysis JRA-552023, the air temperature anomaly in the Northern Hemisphere was + 0.72and + 1.09 ℃ in the Arctic compared to the same values in the baseline observation period 1991–2020. Previously, 2016 was considered the warmest year. This could not but bring changes in the values of ground thawing depth in the Russian Arctic in recent decades and in the overall permafrost thawing. The paper provides a quantitative assessment of these events.
