Origin of Solar System Comets

The author’s “cometoasteroid” concept of Solar System comets origin, based on Galactocentric paradigm ideas, is discussed. It is argued that long- and short-period comets we observe are daughter formations, products of collisions of galactic comets of Orion-Cygnus jet stream with asteroid belt bodies, captured by Sun attraction into orbits more diverse and distant than at asteroid belt bodies. These daughter objects are composed of substance of galactic origin comets frozen together with debris and vaporized material of asteroids. Long-period and short-period comets were formed in time interval from 5 to 0.7 Ma, and differ from each other in that the former have aphelion of its orbits is ~ 104–105 AU. Therefore, today they are returning back to the Sun for the first time. While, the second have never left Solar System limits, they gravitate towards the ecliptic plane and today have survived only in outer space between giant planets. At random convergences with these planets, they are thrown towards the Sun, and then we are observed them as members of the comets family of corresponding giant planet. It is shown that the stated concept explains well all main properties of observed comets in Solar System.
