Geoecological Problems in the Ural Basin Under a Changing Climate

Geoecological problems in the Ural basin are caused by intense and growing technogenic load on the environment over time. It is created mainly by mining agricultural enterprises that pollute the environment and natural waters, including water intakes for domestic, drinking and technical purposes. To protect them from pollution in the river basin Ural research was carried out, mainly within the Orenburg region to hydrogeological studies of the territory. It made it possible to establish patterns of changes in the dynamics and chemical composition of water at existing water intakes. The previously identified processes of depletion of water resources due to the uneven manifestation of seasonal and long-term changes in the elements of the water balance confirm the need for the use of new technologies. Their implementation will help overcome the shortage of water resources in the Orenburg region. When using water replenishment technology, the productivity of water intake wells increases and water quality improves, which can be supported by the introduction of barrier technologies. New water management technologies open up the possibility of providing the population of the Orenburg region with drinking water in the future.
