Variations of Multifractal Scaling of Spatial Distributions of Seismic Energy Before the Preci Earthquake (Central Italy, 2016, Mw = 6.6)

The results of multifractal analysis of spatial distributions of seismic energy (seismic energy fields) in the epicentral area of the 30.10.2016 Central Italy earthquake ( \(M\approx 6.6\) ) are presented. It is shown that before the main shock of this event the singularity spectrum of seismic energy field got significantly widen and changed the form of asymmetry. From the physical point of view these variations may be explained as a consequence of seismogenerating system transition in strongly non-equilibrium state. The quantitative characteristics of the observed effects are proposed. These characteristics may be used for the purposes of the seismogenerating system current state monitoring.
