摘要

The construction of high-rise structures is a difficult task for engineers because there are many criteria to consider, such as lateral forces, soil condition, structure strength, stiffness, economics, and so on. In this study, seismic analysis of regular and irregular G+20 RCC buildings was performed using ETABS software. The study included bare frame analysis followed by simulation of different lateral load-resisting systems (shear walls, X-bracings, fluid viscous dampers) response spectrum analysis was employed in zone V to assess the buildings’ behaviour under seismic loads. The main objective of the study is to find a suitable way to reduce the seismic effect on buildings, and the result suggests that storey displacements and drift are minimal, when shear wall, shear wall and X-bracing, Shear wall and FVD, and X-bracing and FVD are employed. When compared to other structures, the models with shear walls and X-bracing and shear walls with FVD show the least storey displacement and drift.
