Pakistan’s Security Discourse from Geopolitics to Geo-economics
摘要
This chapter focuses on Pakistan to address some key questions on the transformations of borders and geopolitics in South Asia. It argues that the statist discourse on borders and geopolitics is still a dominant perspective. Yet, a normative turn is required to discuss Pakistan’s future priority by downplaying geopolitical rivalries and focusing more on the country’s economic growth. This transformation would be compatible with two significant situations—Pakistan’s political and economic conundrums, and the changing nature of global and regional politics.
