Introduction
摘要
This chapter begins with the fundamental concepts of supercontinuum generation (SCG) and associated nonlinear effects, then discusses the SCG evolution process, including the typical results of SCG in gas, liquid, solid, and fiber. This provides a historical perspective on SCG in different media. Furthermore, next part focuses on SCG in the integrated waveguides, and introduces some basic concepts and categories of waveguides, which are key factors for SCG. Finally, the book structure and chapter outline will be introduced.
