Droplet Microfluidic Systems for Multistep Single-Cell Sequencing Assays

Droplet-based single-cell sequencing methods have recently revolutionized various branches of biomedical research, significantly advancing our ability to unravel the complexities of physiological dynamics at the individual cell level. In this chapter, we present recent advances in droplet microfluidic technologies for single-cell sequencing, focusing on platforms and analytical approaches designed for the execution of multistep protocols. These advancements have significantly expanded the array of possible assays for profiling single-cell transcriptomes, genomes, and other modalities.
