Ultrasound Guided Hyaluronic Acid Filler Injection: Internal Carotid Artery Territories

After having knowledge of basic anatomy of arteries of the face, it is recommended to perform Doppler ultrasound detection for more prevention of vascular complication. Learning curve is needed to perform ultrasound, but once you learn using ultrasound, safer hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injection can be performed. In this chapter, we will describe how to perform ultrasound guided HA filler injection at internal carotid artery territories. A relatively safer technique is needed at internal carotid artery territories because of a serious complication, which is ocular complication [1, 2].
