Trace Inequalities for Positive Semidefinite Matrices

In this chapter, we address two questions posed by Jean-Christophe Bourin regarding matrix subadditivity inequalities. We provide a solution to a generalized version of the first question for the trace norm and the Hilbert–Schmidt norm. Moreover, we give partial answers to the Hilbert–Schmidt version of the second question by utilizing the Araki–Lieb–Thirring and Ando–Hiai–Okubo trace inequalities.
