Root-Cause Analysis of Alarm Events

Such connections as information flow pathsInformation flow path are helpful to narrow down the search space of alarm and process variables for root causes of abnormalities. Second, root-cause analysis methods are proposed for alarm and process variables to determine the root causes of alarm events in an online manner from recent data. Numerical and industrial examples are given to illustrate these methods.
