As the global population steadily increases, there is a noticeable demographic shift characterised by greater life expectancy and a growing ageing population. Simultaneously, expectations for improved healthcare are on the rise, creating mounting pressure on medical care systems. To address these challenges, researchers are actively exploring the potential of smart textile systems. These innovative systems seamlessly integrate advanced functionalities into various medical textiles, which include surgical implants, dressings, garments, and beddings, to name a few.
