Textile-Based Wound Dressings
摘要
A wound is defined as disruption of epithelial tissue integrity, which may extend deeper and involve sub-epithelial tissues that are dermis, fascia, and muscle. Wounds can result from accidental incidents, intentional actions, or be part of a disease process. The historical journey of wound care is from prehistoric times to modern medicine, progressing from basic wound dressings such as vinegar-soaked dressings, through the use of topical antibiotics, to the application of growth factors.
