COMSYS Hackathon-II: Igniting AI Minds

The COMSYS Hackathon-II, 2023, held in conjunction with the conference, ICDEC-2023, marked the second edition of this dynamic competition focused on cultivating innovation and expertise in the realms of Data Science and Machine Learning. The Hackathon unfolded in two online rounds, each presenting unique hurdles within the field. In the inaugural round, participants grappled with the intricacies of Feature Selection, where a dataset with 85 instances and 22,283 features demanded their skills in reducing redundancy to enhance classification accuracy. The top-performing teams from this round progressed to the final challenge, centered around Speech Recognition. The second round brought forth a dataset comprising audio clips from 249 distinct individuals, identified through unique IDs gathered from crowd-sourcing and online platforms. Finalists were entrusted with the formidable task of categorizing voice clips by discerning distinctive features embedded in audio signals. This enabled the participants to showcase their innovation in unraveling patterns within complex audio data.
