Stewart Structure Based 6-DoF Vibration Isolation

The basic X-structure/mechanism and its variants can be used as different design motifs to form a more complex and integrated systems which can thus work in more than one directions with more than one functions simultaneously. Single X-structure of one layer, half layer or multi-layers etc. is often working only in one essential direction, while several such design motifs can be integrated together appropriately to construct a more complex structure for multi-directional vibration control together with other functions. This integration can also include active control units and sensors such that the overall integrated system is more versatile, robust and adaptive as desired.
