This chapter analyzes the performance of visible-light communications (VLC) systems with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) configurations, focusing on the application of space–time coding in VLC systems. Two detection algorithms for MIMO-VLC systems, maximum-likelihood joint detection and equal-gain combined detection, were analyzed, and their bit-error rate (BER) performance and channel capacity were discussed. This chapter is an application of space–time coding.
