Nanocellulose in Textile Applications

摘要

With the boom of nanotechnology, textile industries are extensively getting development opportunities. Textile product quality is being enhanced for specific and generally used applications with nanomaterials embedded into the polymer matrix part coated onto the fiber surface. The sources of nanocellulose (NC) are very common in nature and these NCs are generally extracted from the cell walls of plants. Nano cellulose are the materials showing diversity in their properties including excellent stiffness, good strength, and higher surface area values. Textile material surface modification is possibility done with the higher number of hydroxyl groups presented in nanocellulose chemical structure. Additionally, nanocellulose has been reported as eco-friendly and is not sensitive to environmental changes. This section of the study reveals the effects and applications of nanocellulose on textile modification.
