Formation and Potential Applications of Deep Eutectic Solvents

This chapter aims to provide a selection of examples showcasing the diverse range of applications proposed for deep eutectic solvents within the relatively short timeframe since their first research publication in 2003. Since its introduction, DES has attracted significant attention and has been extensively studied across various fields. Their unique solvent properties, enabling the dissolution of a wide range of solutes, coupled with their environmentally friendly nature, have positioned them as promising alternatives to conventional solvents. This chapter emphasis the various applications of deep eutectic solvents that were proposed over the years after the discovery of deep eutectic solvents.
