Enhancement of Solar Panel Efficiency

摘要

The clean and inexhaustible nature of photovoltaic energy makes it an important energy source. Solar panels are usually able to process 15–20% of solar energy into electrical energy; the factors that affect its efficiency are tilt, orientation, latitude, and climate. The efficiency refers to the electricity that can be generated from sunlight using photovoltaic cells. By combining the Sun Tracker, Reflecting System, and PV Panel Cooling, the power generated by the PV panels can be increased. In Sun Tracker systems, the sun’s path can be tracked by fixed panels on moving structures. By using reflective materials such as aluminum foil and zinc tiles, it is possible to maximize solar radiation that falls on the photovoltaic panels. When the temperature of a panel increases, it can negatively affect its electrical output, so water cooling can reduce this effect. Integration of Solar Tracker, PV panel cooling using Arduino, reflecting system have been proposed to increase the efficiency of the energy conversion. The effectiveness of the proposed techniques is proved by implementing the hardware in this paper.
