Production of Wood Plastic Composites—A Review

摘要

WPCs are a class of composite materials consisting of two main, independent phases. The phase known as the matrix is responsible for binding and transferring load between the various components. Either a thermoset or a thermoplastic makes up the matrix in WPCs. The wood component, which can be any size or shape and serves as a filler or reinforcement for the composite, is the other main phase. Additives, which are combined to help in processing and affect a variety of properties of the final product, make up a relatively small portion of the total composite. Despite the long history of using natural lumber as a building material, wood plastic composites are still referred to as new materials. In certain production processes or facilities, the ingredients are mixed and processed in an extruder before being palletized to create pallets of the newest material. After that, the pallets are melted and given their final shape. This essay focuses on a thorough examination of WPC components, including how to obtain them, their characteristics, manufacturing processes, benefits, outdoor durability, and issues related to WPCs. Over the past three years, WPC has passionately changed. WPC was well-received as a panel product in the Indian market. WPC is now regarded as a valuable product category, and the countries have good manufacturers.
