Profibus DP & PA Several Issues in Industrial Network
摘要
This paper deals with issue and challenges of Profibus DP (RS-485) and control systems using Profibus DP (RS-485) shared communication media in an industrial network. Future-oriented automation concepts must include both the continuous information methodology and the devices’ and subsystems’ communication capabilities. An industrial environment exists where industrial communications are essential. PROFIBUS stands for Process Field BUS, and it is the field bus communication standard used for automation. It is well known that one of the most popular communication protocols used in the manufacturing, production, building automation, and other automation control industries is PROFIBUS, which is open source, global, and vendor neutral. There are several functional modules present in the hardware configuration, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, electrical sliding couple, electrical sliding brake, LAN modules, DIN rail devices, and tower lights among others, all of which are connected via Ethernet IP protocols and Profibus. This paper includes a detailed description of numerous issues with Profibus DP related to signal transmission between a slave and the master device such as open circuit, short-circuit, glitch signal and slave lost, etc. Open field bus standard Profibus Network enables a diverse range of manufacturing and process automation applications, as well as facilitating the learning of Profibus DP easier. However, it also poses numerous challenges and also presents a lot of difficulties. Based on the findings of the analysis conducted using ProfiCore Ultra Tool and ProfiTrace version 2.8.9, this paper addresses several issues related to the Profibus DP and PA Protocol. All automation industries as well as the manufacturing sector make extensive use of this tool and software.
