摘要

Digital image manipulation, or digital image counterfeiting, is termed as the act for altering a digital image to conceal or omit important or pertinent data. The detection of modified parts of the original image is quite challenging. Therefore, the detection of such forgeries is essential for safeguarding the validity of the image. With the help of modern technology and imaging software, pictures can now be effortlessly altered. Consequently, it is critical to identify any alterations to the image. Detection of image fraud can be achieved by examining the image for any object removal, object addition, or unexpected size changes. The need for image forgery detection is ever increasing in the modern times. In this study, we use distinct techniques to detect forgery in different types of images with different scenarios. This study mainly focuses on eight different passive techniques to detect image forgery in digital images. We discuss in detail about how these techniques work and what indicators do they look for in a forged image.
