An IoT-Based Automatic Light Control System for Smart Buildings
摘要
Current technological advancements necessitate the adoption of intelligent control methods in building energy management to enhance energy efficiency. Globally, buildings account for approximately 40% of total energy consumption by end-users. Recent years have witnessed a significant surge in the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) across various applications. This rapid IoT growth has led to the widespread implementation of home automation systems worldwide. IoT devices play a crucial role in minimizing energy wastage and simplifying consumers’ management of their energy usage. With Internet connectivity being ubiquitous, remote control of home appliances via the internet has become the prevailing trend. This paper explores various IoT applications that enable intelligent load control using the Nodemcu (ESP8266) controller, ultimately using the capability of ThinSpeak for remote control and monitoring of load through the internet without dependency on near field communication. The data is stored on drive that reduces chances of data loss on local drives. This paper additionally introduces a functional model centered on automated load management.
